What is DRDO?
Defense Research and Development Organization is known by the initials DRDO. It was created by the Indian government in 1958 and placed under the Ministry of Defense (Raksha Mantralay).
The UPSC Syllabus includes a significant and interesting section on defense. For IAS aspirants, the DRDO is a very important subject because it plays a significant role in the nation's defense system. The Commission has a number of inquiries regarding missile launches, their types, etc. Knowing a number of pertinent facts and statistics is crucial to answering such factual questions in the UPSC Prelims.
The most recent update from DRDO is -
On February 28, 2021, the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) successfully launched the "Sindhu Netra" satellite into orbit. The satellite is intended to improve the nation's surveillance capabilities to track both military warships and commercial shipping in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). The PSLV-C51 of the Indian Space Research Organization launched the satellite from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
How to Apply for the DRDO Exams:
DRDO JE Exams are conducted by CEPTAM and SSC, if you want to apply for DRDO then CEPTAM and SSC will be the best choice for you,
CEPTAM stands for CENTRE FOR PERSONNEL TALENT MANAGEMENT, which is the technical body of DRDO and is responsible to conduct exams,
You want to crack this exam through SSC, or CEPTAM. Follow these steps strictly –
Candidates who organize and carry out their studies have a higher chance of passing the test than those who do not. A well-thought-out SSC JE preparation strategy is essential because the exam is extremely competitive. Find out here how to study for the SSC JE exam and how to pass it. Below are some very helpful SSC JE civil, electrical, and mechanical exam strategies. Follow the things and crack the code.
1. Material for study: Last 10 years question papers
Staff Selection Commission exam questions are the most repetitive. As a result, the previous year's questions must be the main focus of preparation. You should collect the last 10 years’ question papers and continually solve and revise them. Make a note of the crucial inquiries that are being asked repeatedly. A lot of book consultations will make you feel less confident because you will only learn so much from each one. Preparing a separate notebook is crucial for design subjects like RCC, Steel, and some aspects of environmental engineering. Choose the standard question from the previous year's questions for each topic, such as the design of beams, slabs, or columns, which includes all the steps and assumptions. Try to include all the variations that might be possible for that topic in a single question. Take one or two questions per subject to cover the entire design portion of that subject. Reread this every day to help your brain become accustomed to the design process. When practicing for questions from last year, never skip the theoretical questions. Try to put down whatever you know, then go over the answers and try again to put it in your own words. Don't make the mistake my friend made during the early stages of my preparation of keeping separate notes for them; doing so will only take time. Furthermore, there are fewer theoretical questions in the main exam.
2. Speed: Prepare your home for the exam.
You have to create an exam environment at home practicing daily solving and grading yourself TIME Vs Number of Right answers solved. Speed is crucial because the main exam only has 300 possible points and is only two hours long. My friend used to allot time during the last two months before the exam whenever he completed the previous year's questions, with the restriction that he had to finish these many questions within the next hour. Based on the results of the particular question's marks, he allocated this time. This significantly aided in my ability to increase my speed.
3. Accuracy: Go for the selective depth study.
Because of topics like structural analysis and material strength, this really bothered him. He operated under the straightforward tenet of using a red pen to circle any errors he made in the questions he was solving. Even the formulas that he frequently forgot, he immediately annotated in the rough draft. This was very effective in achieving the goal of the brief notes because changing them requires changing the entire question. Additionally, making quick notes takes less time.
4. Exam meantime: During the exam catch the maximum point
It is crucial to determine which five of the six questions you will attempt in the first five minutes. Write how much you are certain you will receive an answer to each of the six questions. Using the score of 40/60, choose the 5 questions you want to try. As your goal is to earn as many points as you can and are confident of, start with questions you are already very comfortable with. After fully resolving them, this will save time in contemplation and boost confidence. Never leave any questions about design or theory unanswered. You will still receive a portion of the grade even if you only write a few steps or the formula.
5. USE THE RULE 6/6/6 – 6 MONTHS, 6 HOURS, 6 SETS
Remember SSE JE exam can be cleared in 6 months of consistent preparation follow the triple six rule and tag yourself as JUNIOR ENGINEER in the next exam. The first 6 means 6 months whether your exam will be in the coming 3 months but do not fight just wait for a 6-month cycle first finish the syllabus, and sets of questions, and then fight. Next 6 means 6 hours daily productively, divide each alternate hour with concepts & questions. The last 6 means 6 different subjects at a time, remember one thing questions are always asked in different sets, always do not prepare only one subject at a time, always go with 6 subjects with the most asked topics.
